– Sarah B, Lifetime Fitness colleague: yoga teacher, student, and friend

Jules fosters a safe space for both playful exploration and conscientious restoration. She empowers individuals to listen and honor their individual needs. When rest is needed, rest is encouraged – offering alternatives for complex poses. When challenge is desired, challenge of one’s self is encouraged – offering carefully crafted sequences, technique, and modification when applicable. It is evident that Jules is self-motivated in her studies and enthusiastically shares the fruits of her labor with her students. Warm, open, and inviting, you will often find her making time to connect with the new faces as well as the long standing attendees of her class. These efforts strengthen the sense of community and well being to all those in her periphery. She is creative, diligent, and a master of her craft.”

I’ve practiced with Jules over the last 7+ years at the YMCA. I’ve been fortunate in that the YMCA has many excellent yoga instructors/guides, but for me, Jules is in her own category. I try to prioritize her class time because the guidance I receive is so layered. She’s inspired me to dig deep into the philosophy of yoga and I’ve experienced so many layers of learning as I’ve grown. I attribute it to Jules. The word choices, not just the cues she guides us with, but her deep knowledge and empathy she offers to yogis with her words, knowing what we are experiencing and helping us relate to our experiences, is off the charts. I know, you think I’m crazy, but I’ve come so far in the last many years practicing yoga with her as my main instructor. Whether you’re a novice or not, take time to understand the meaning of her word choices as needed, be curious, talk with Jules. Most recently, her yoga nidra guidance has really benefited me off the mat. She’s a wonderful guide.
